Celebrating 50 years 1974-2024

The Everdon Community Group have been busily making a wall hanging celebrating 50 years of the Grand Everdon Fete , Everdon Village Hall and the Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre . It was unveiled in the Village Hall on Saturday. it is magnificent. Do go and visit it on Monday.

Don’t miss The Everukes playing in the Church at 3pm tomorrow.

The Everukes are Everdon’s very own Ukele band

The Everukes were formed back in 2016 with a beginner’s group of about 20 predominantly from the village and the surrounding area, most of whom who had never played any instrument let alone the ukulele before.

A number of about eight eventually continued to meet regularly to rehearse and play together every two weeks.

This progressed onto another beginners group the year after in 2017. By 2018 the group were both large and proficient enough to start performing which they did at the Everdon Fete, and at several nursing homes and other functions in and around the Daventry area, raising money for charitable causes.

There were further beginners’ groups in 2018 & 2019 and by the end of 2019 the group were 25 strong. Then Covid hit!!  When we were allowed to meet again as a group for various reasons the numbers had reduced down to 14, but was thankfully still functioning.

All in all, there have been nearly 100 people that have attended the beginners’ groups and whilst not all continued all had at least the satisfaction of having played a musical instrument and also sing in a group.

The group now has a portfolio of about 80 numbers which are added to most years.

A sample of some of the numbers are (see attached)  but each set performed tends to vary accordingly.

If you’re interested in joining the Everukes, who meet every Thursday in Everdon Village hall and anyone is welcome or alternatively, if you would like to book them for an event, please contact Steve on 07768 998153.

Introducing the Everdon T towel 2016

After the success of the Everdon Jute bag we are introducing the Everdon T towel.

Made of unbleached high class cotton and once again using  a picture of the historic bridge in Everdon which has become the Fete Logo.

They will go on sale on fete day for £4. They are a limited edition and are likely to be very popular so preorders can be made by contacting [email protected]

Thank you to Lizzie Barwood for her hard working sourcing and designing them

Thank you to for our kind sponsors . Their sponsorship has meant that the production costs have been covered so all of the £4 goes to fete funds.
